Two Voices. One Mission. A Thousand Ways to Take Action.
Do Something STL
Sunday, July 27 | 1–5 PM | The Boundary at the Cheshire
We need more than inspiration; we need action. That’s why we’re bringing two powerhouse authors and advocates to Do Something STL for an afternoon designed to ignite purpose, sharpen our tools, and move us forward.
Heather Fleming and Cynthia Changyit Levin don’t just talk about change; they live it. They turn everyday passion into bold, strategic action. And at Do Something STL, they’ll be sharing their work and their tools to help you take your next step, whether you’re just getting started or ready to lead.
Heather Fleming is the founder of the Missouri Equity Education Partnership (MoEEP) and a former English teacher who has become one of the leading voices for educational justice in Missouri. Through MoEEP, she’s fighting censorship, defending inclusive education, and building a movement for equity in our schools.
She’s also the author of two powerful, accessible books:
My Black Friend Says – a practical, honest guide to race, bias, and belonging, complete with journal prompts that invite real growth.
The Advocate in Me – an 8-week action journal designed to help you clarify your values, activate your voice, and build a personalized equity plan rooted in real life.
Cynthia Changyit Levin is a national advocacy coach and a rare nonpartisan changemaker who helps everyday people turn civic frustration into meaningful impact. She’s a passionate voice on issues such as child poverty, hunger, global health, maternal care, and gun violence prevention, and she has trained hundreds of new advocates through organizations like RESULTS, Bread for the World, Moms Demand Action, and CARE.
She’s also the author of two dynamic, highly practical advocacy guides:
From Changing Diapers to Changing the World – a bestselling part-memoir, part-manual that offers a deeply personal, step-by-step roadmap to advocacy, especially for caregivers and community builders looking to make a difference.
Advocacy Made Easy (coming soon) – a hands-on toolkit for turning civic frustration into focused, effective action, no matter your political experience or background.
If you’ve been asking what you can do, how you can help, or where to start, this is it.
Join us on July 27. Meet the movement-makers and leave with the fuel and the tools to do something, right now, right here, right where you are.
